Thursday...
Warning Message:A heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT
Thursday.
* Temperature...high temperatures the next few days will reach
the mid to upper 90s. The recent heavy rains over much of
Arkansas will result in high relative humidity values...and
produce dangerous afternoon heat indices today and Thursday.
Afternoon heat indices will range from 105 to 109 degrees over
the area today and Thursday. Overnight lows will remain warm
as well...with readings only falling into the mid to upper
70s.
* Impacts...excessive heat and humidity can bring on heat
related illnesses quickly. Individuals are encouraged to
exercise extra caution when outdoors and be prepared for the
dangers posed by excessive heat.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
